Why is Vitamin C so important for our health:
- Enhances resistance to infections
- Aids in regeneration and wound healing
- Acts as an antioxidant, protecting against cancerous diseases
- Can neutralize harmful free radicals that are increasingly formed during physical and mental stress (stressful conditions).
- Strengthens and cleanses blood vessel walls
- Participates in various metabolic processes
- Alleviates allergic symptoms due to its natural antihistamine effect
- Protects the gums
- Contributes to the formation of numerous hormones
- Also involved in the formation of collagen in connective and supporting tissues
- Has a cholesterol-lowering effect
- Enhances iron and copper absorption.
Rosehip
In addition to vitamin C, it also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, and K. Among the plants growing in Hungary, this berry contains the most vitamin C. Rosehip extract can contribute to respiratory health, support the body's resistance, the normal functioning of the immune system, and protect cells against harmful oxidative processes. Regular consumption of rosehip extract lowers cholesterol levels. Patients who consumed a drink made from rosehip daily for six weeks saw their cholesterol levels decrease by almost 5 percent. This can reduce the risk of heart disease by up to 17 percent.
Acerola
Acerola extract has particularly beneficial effects on the body, thanks to its high vitamin C content. It is considered a true superfood worldwide, a characteristic plant of the West Indies and parts of the American continent. When it comes to vitamin C intake, there is no better solution than acerola. This tiny fruit contains the third highest amount of natural vitamin C. The number is quite astonishing: just 10 decagrams of acerola, depending on its ripeness, contains about 2700 percent of the daily requirement. However, it is important to know that the redder it is, the lower its vitamin C content, although even the ripest fruit still contains over 1000 mg of the vitamin.
Interestingly, it owes its somewhat sour taste, and thus its name (acerola means sour in Spanish), to this fact.
